| Children's Chapel (Little Liturgy): In order to begin to learn to worship our lord, pre-school children attend Children's Chapel at the start of the 9:00 and 11:30 worship services. During Children's Chapel the children are led in prayer, sing songs and hear a Bible story (the same Gospel reading their parents are hearing in church). Your child will be brought to Children's Chapel directly from the nursery, are accompanied by Nursery Staff and volunteers at all times, and returned to the nursery afterwards. | ||
| Rite K: For those children from Kindergarten up to the fifth grade, we offer Rite K, a Liturgy of the Word for our Kids, at both the 9:00 and 11:30 a.m. services. Shortly after the processional hymn the children are called forward for a blessing by the priest and then follow the cross-bearer to our Children's Worship area. The lesson is lead by a team of adults and worship music is provided by our teenagers. Rite K follows the same order of service as "Big Church", but its more interactive and age appropriate. This is a great place for children to learn about and find meaning in the rich liturgy of the Episcopal Church. | ||
| Sunday School: is provided for children, from 2 year olds through college. God has brought together a tremendous group of teachers who are devoted to serving God through the children and youth. Our focus in all levels is to teach the Word of God and how to apply it in everyday life. In addition, we are working on helping the children to develop a rich prayer life, to pray with and for others as well as personal prayer as a way to communicate with God. | ||
| First Communion: Classes are offered in the Fall and Spring to prepare children, to understand and participate in the Sacrament of Holy Eucharist. In order to fully understand this sacrament, children are requested not to partake in Communion until they have had the opportunity to participate in these excellent classes. Classes are geared toward 2nd to 6th grade, parents are advised to discuss participation with the Director of Christian Education. | ||
| Youth Confirmation Class: Teens in 9th grade or above who are ready to take on the Baptismal vows their parents made for them, and make a personal commitment to Jesus, are invited to join the Youth Confirmation Class. This class meets in the Fall, for five Sunday Evenings before youth group meetings, and culminates in a Youth Discovery Weekend, which is put on by older teens. | ||
| Vacation Bible School: 2002 was the biggest and best ever for the 160+ kids and 100+ volunteers as we spent the week on a Bug Safari learning how God works in our lives. Mark your calendars now for June 23-27, 2003 as we begin our S.C.U.B.A. (Super Cool Undersea Bible Adventure)! Registration begins in February. | ||
