| Baptism:
In
the Episcopal Church, you are considered a Christian and a member of the
worldwide Body of Christ if you have been baptized in the
name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. i.e. the historic Trinitarian
Formula.
To be an active member of the Body of Christ at St. Luke's on the Lake, you need to be baptized. If you or a member of your family are not baptized, please call the church and speak with a member of the clergy. We have baptismal classes several times a year. |

|
Confirmation: All active members are encourage to be confirmed in the Episcopal Church. The sacrament of Confirmation is a special service in which you re-affirm your baptismal vows and receive the "laying of of hands" by the Bishop of our Diocese. Being a confirmed Episcopalian is required if you want to serve in a leadership role of the Vestry, the governing body of our church. |
||
| Received: Confirmed members of the Roman Catholic tradition are "received" into the Episcopal Church, not re-confirmed, by the Bishop. | ||
| Transferring Memberships: If you have already been confirmed in another Episcopal Church, this should be documented through a Letter of Transfer from that church to St. Luke's on the Lake. Please contact the church office to request this membership transfer. | ||
