Giving Options
Gifts of Stock
Donating appreciated stock can be a tax-efficient way to support the church. You may be able to avoid capital gains tax and potentially receive a charitable deduction for the full value of the stock (check with your financial advisor).
To initiate a stock gift, please contact our office at office@stlukesonthelake.org for brokerage instructions.
IRA Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs)
If you are age 70.5 years or older, you can donate directly from your IRA to St. Luke’s in order to satisfy part or all of your required minimum distribution (RMD) tax-free. This is another way to get the full value of your donation excluded from taxable income. Contact your financial advisor for more information. Your IRA custodian should issue the check directly to:
St. Luke’s on the Lake Episcopal Church
5600 Ranch Road 620 North
Austin, Texas 78732
Make sure that the accompanying advice or documentation includes your full name, and designates if it is intended to meet a pledge or some other specific purpose.
Donor-Advised Funds (DAFs)
You can recommend a grant to St. Luke’s from your donor-advised fund. This is a powerful way to give now and plan for future generosity. Use our legal name, St. Luke’s on the Lake Episcopal Church and Employer Identification Number (EIN: 74-1654821) when making your recommendation.
Planned & Legacy Giving
Consider leaving a lasting legacy through a bequest in your will, a charitable trust, or other estate planning tools. Our clergy and stewardship team would be honored to speak with you confidentially about your plans.
