Worship

Our worship at St. Luke’s seeks to create sacred space to rest and be renewed by God. Our worship is also liturgical (a Greek word that means “the work of the people”) in which beauty and participation are central components. People of all ages are encouraged and welcome to participate fully in our worship.

8:00 AM Sundays: In-Person

8:00 AM Holy Eucharist, Rite I

The 8:00 AM service in the church includes readings from the Bible, a sermon, prayers, and Holy Communion. It is taken from the 1979 Book of Common Prayer and is a “Rite I” service meaning that it uses traditional language (think King James Bible) that has been prayed and passed down by faithful Christians for centuries. This service gives space for those seeking more calm and contemplative worship and utilizes a simple service outline along with the Book of Common Prayer.

10:15 AM Sundays: In-Person & Online

10:15 AM Holy Eucharist, Rite II with Choir

The 10:15 AM service in the Church includes hymns and special music, readings from Holy Scripture, a sermon, prayers, and Holy Communion. It is taken from the 1979 Book of Common Prayer and is a “Rite II” service meaning that it uses contemporary language. This service also includes “Kid’s Church” which allows children to begin the service with their families, come close for the reading of God’s Word, engage in a craft and special lesson, and rejoin their families for Communion. Those helping lead worship at this service include elementary to high school parishioners, adults, and our Clergy. Everything you need to participate in this service is provided in the worship bulletin that you’ll receive when you arrive.

Children’s Worship

“Let the little children come to me; do not stop them; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of God belongs.”(Mark 10:14)

Little Liturgy

As part of our Nursery time, we offer a safe, healthy, and nurturing experience for all children 0-5 years during both our Sunday services. Children will also participate in Little Liturgy, a special worship experience geared just for them. We incorporate Godly Play methodology into our worship experience with these littlest of our church family, telling stories and engaging in activities or crafts to highlight the message being taught that day. Little Liturgy occurs before the Peace, allowing parents to bring their kids upstairs for the Communion portion of the larger service.
