The Details

You are invited to experience Snowball Mountain Challenge with us – as a participant OR volunteer! Our campus will be transformed into a mountaintop experience filled with

laughter, life lessons, and lasting faith. As kids face their challenges and discover their strength in God, you’ll hear them say, “Challenge accepted – with God I am strong.”

- We need over 90 volunteers! Even one day would help.

- What can you do? See example job descriptions below!

- Our volunteers will receive sign off on service hours, as needed, and great leadership opportunities.

- Separate volunteer opportunities are available even before June 15, including take home Prep Projects.

- Volunteers serving the week of VBS receive breakfast treats each morning, a free t-shirt, and a robust “appreciation breakfast” on Friday before final clean up.

Volunteer Positions

Crew Leader/Helper – Working as a two-person team, guide a ‘crew’ of 6 kids through the mornings’ activities, including science fun, crafts, games, SNACKS, and of course a fun Bible lesson. Their most important role is simple but sacred: helping kids feel safe, known, and loved.

Station Leaders/Helpers – A Station is any given specific activity area (science, crafts, games, snacks) where crews rotate in and out of to do activities. The leaders/helpers lead the activity for the crews. The Director Team preps the lesson plans & finalizes materials prep; the leader/helper directly interacts with the participants and crew leaders according to the schedule. NOTE: Station Leaders are usually committed early on so they can have input in the planning process.

Tech Support – Primarily works the sound booth during elementary opening/closing and any time Sanctuary is used for programming. Also assists photographers.

Official Photographer – limited need, but self explanatory; helps to be familiar with social media posting

Can’t serve all morning? We also need volunteers to, among other things:

  • provide care for volunteers’ children before or after VBS from 8:15-8:45 am and 12-12:30 pm

  • monitor the doors ensuring everyone’s safety from 9-12 am

  • act out the Bible stories at the opening celebration from 9-9:30 am

  • set out and clean up breakfast for volunteers in the morning from 8-9 am

  • supervise extended care activities, Noon-3 pm

  • prepare and count supplies for the station leaders (anytime in April/May)

  • help decorate and transform the church into a winter mountain sports venue, and

  • last, but not least, to pray for our attendees and their families, our volunteers and their families, and for God to be glorified in all we do.

Whether you love working directly with kids or prefer helping behind the scenes, there’s a place for you at VBS. One of our favorite things about VBS is seeing the Body of Christ at

work—each person offering his or her time, talents, and treasure to share God’s Story with love, continuing Our Story with the next generation. We hope you’ll prayerfully consider being

part of it this spring/summer. Come laugh, serve, grow, and make a difference with us. Join the VBS team be part of something truly special!
